Mary J Blige

Mary J. Blige
is well known and celebrated as the Queen of Hip Hop/Soul. On her next album however, Blige could be taking a detour with Rock involved.

Before you go thinking that Blige is dropping the R&B/Soul that we've all fallen in love with over the years, for her own version of "The Rebirth," it looks like this is a one off.

According to sources speaking with Billboard, Blige hosted a secret gathering at a Los Angeles area recording studio last week. Tapping producers and artistic talent including Steve Vai, Travis Barker, Randy Jackson (American Idol), and Ron Fair, Blige has reportedly covered Led Zeppelin's "Stairway To Heaven" !

According to the L.A. Times, the cover is set to appear on her next album, due later this year.

This is not however, the Grammy winner's first foray into the rock world. She spent time with U2 recording the hit single "One" in 2006.
